best ad blocker for ios - block facebook and youtube video ads

The release of Content Blocking Extensions on Safari back in iOS 9 days was met with excitement among iOS users, who've seen the barrage of ads assaulting their iPhone screens from time to time.

With Content Blocking Extensions finally supported on Safari, iOS users now have complete control over the level of privacy-invading adverts and trackers they are willing to tolerate.

While we do believe ads are necessary nuisance to skip paywalls and keep everything free online, some web pages are just plain annoying, deliberately degrading user experience by bombarding us with ads and popups.

If you're just as fed up as me and want to block ads on iPhone including those pesky Facebook ads and YouTube ads that's cluttering your iPhone screen, then, read on!

Meet Wipr: the Best and Last Ad Blocker You Need for iOS — Blocks Facebook and YouTube Ads Too

Forget about Adamant, Purify, or Crystal. Those popular content blockers on iOS just don't make the cut. I had an unpleasant experience with those apps that I decided to completely remove them for good. And not too long ago, some of those well-advertised apps even caught receiving $$$ from big-time advetizers in exchange of whitelisting their ads.

Wipr is heaps better than them. It works just as promised without compromising your iOS browsing speed. And it's regularly-updated list of trackers ensures all ads, trackers, cryptocurrency miners, EU cookie and GDPR notices are all blocked.

One thing I appreciate about Wipr is this bold promise of transparency:

"No one can pay to unblock ads. There are no acceptable ads. Wipr only answers to you."

Which means, no single advert gets whitelisted.

Wipr works in Safari (for now)

You can best appreciate Wipr if you regularly use Safari on your iPhone. It's tough on ads and gives you speedier browsing experience. One reason why a website takes ages to load is because of multiple trackers and adverts competing a slice of attention from you as user.

With Wipr, not only can you save precious data but websites now load significantly faster.

Block ads on Facebook and YouTube

Wipr also blocks Facebook and YouTube ads on iPhone's Safari. If you primarily use Safari to access web pages like Facebook and YouTube, Wipr is a must. I've long uninstalled YouTube and Facebook apps in an attempt to limit the amount of time I spend on these apps. But if I needed to quickly see Facebook updates or binge watch on YouTube, I just turn to Safari.

How To: Watch YouTube, Netflix on Sticky, Floating Window While Keeping Other Apps Opened

Wipr sets you back around $1.99, but it's worth your money considering that you can now permanently block ads on iOS, including that on Facebook and YouTube ads. (Download Wipr)

How To: Block Ads on iOS, Including Facebook Ads and Youtube Video Ads (iPhone & iPad)

If you're a long-time Android power user who just switched to iOS, you would want to warn everyone how hard it is to enjoy the kind of customizability and convenience that Android brings to the table. For sure iOS has the kind of mobile experience that's missing on the Android, and so does the Android to iOS. But if we are to weigh both based on the criterion of which one gives the best mobile experience, Android, well for me, is the real winner.

Remotely Lock, Password-Protect Your Lost/Forgotten Phone Thru SMS

The following 5 Android apps hopefully explains why Android is the best platform & why it can make your digital life a lot easier compared to iPhone:

1) Tasker (link)

Tasker is one of the Android apps that makes every iPhone user jealous. This $3.00 USD app makes your Smartphone extra smart by automatically executing certain actions based on the profile or criteria you created. You can define a set of instructions/actions which will be automatically performed by your phone in response to events such as location change, time of day, among others.

Example: you can automatically put your phone into silent mode when you're entering on your office, or you can automatically send an SMS to someone when you're leaving the house. There are myriad of automation options you can exploit with Tasker, making your Android experience utterly unforgettable.

2) Astro File Manager (link) & LCG X-Plore (link)

On the iPhone, it's cumbersome to do simple things like unzipping a file, view a PDF, view office files, and even do a simple job of organizing your files straight from your iOS device. Even sending email with multiple attachments & deleting multiple photos inside the iPhone's Gallery are impossible.

How To: Transfer Files From PC To Android Phone Via Wi-Fi (And Vice Versa)

I wish file managers like Astro and LCG X-Plore are available too on the iPhone. Both apps give you full access to your data on your mobile device. And the bonus: these apps have built-in viewer of office files and are bundled with cloud storage integration.

3) Wifi Kill (link)

Now, let's talk about evil: how many times have you wished you could disconnect other devices connecting on a congested wireless network so you can enjoy the extra bandwidth juices on that network? Yes, you can manage and "kill" other devices with this awesome root-only app: Wifi Kill.

4) AirDroid (link)

Your Android experience won't be complete without AirDroid. With AirDroid, you don’t even need to touch your phone in order to use it. The app allows you to access your device remotely by going to AirDroid website and scanning the QR code on the page. The free version of the app lets you do things like reply to text messages, organize your photos, and play music -- all from a web browser while the paid version lets you remotely access your camera and helps you locate a missing or stolen device.

5) SuperBeam (link)

SuperBeam makes transferring of large files as convenient and fast as it should have been. SuperBeam allows you to share large files between Android devices at a blazing speed using WiFi Direct. If WiFi Direct fails, you can even use existing WiFi network to move files from one device to another. Go check out SuperBeam at Play Store.

Those are my shortlist of 5 essential Android apps that hopefully will make their way to iOS!

5 Essential Android Apps That We Wish Existed On The iPhone

Wouldn't it be cool if you can just send an SMS text message to your friends, and with just a simple hit of "Accept" button, your friend's phone will then automatically fire an alarm based on the timestamp you sent?

Well, this is exactly how the new Android app will do for you: it lets you set an alarm clock by simply sending a specially-formatted SMS to a specific (or group) of phone numbers at once.

Smart isn't it?

Flying Alarm Clock: Remotely Set Alarm Clock By SMS (Android)

You can surely save anyone from any morning disaster with this mind-blowing app called Flying Alarm Clock, a clever Android app that allows you to set an alarm clock by simply sending an SMS text message. This is sort of sending a reminder, with complete alarm date and time, to any phone number.

Flying Alarm Clock must be installed on your friend or kid's Android phone (Get it HERE).

Remotely Lock, Password-Protect Your Lost/Forgotten Phone Thru SMS

Unlike the built-in calendar app for Android which is also capable of sending reminders, Flying Alarm Clock doesn't require you to own a hi-end phone just to remotely set your friend's alarm clock. The sweetest part about this FREE Android app is that you can use a monologue phone or even a web-based SMS facility to remind your friends to wake up at particular date/time.

This is basically how you compose a text message to remotely set an alarm clock by SMS:
In the text above, I'm instructing John's phone to set an alarm at 8:50 a.m. in 12th of June, 2012 with an optional message of "Hey John, class this 9".

By the time John receives the message, his Android should prompt like this:

Flying Alarm Clock is truly a brilliant app. Imagine you only have to send an SMS to set your kid or friend's alarm clock?

Learn How To Remotely Spy, Monitor SMS, Text Messages

I've got a suggestion to the developer though. I hope in the next release, no more "Accept" prompts by the time the alarm SMS notification is received. Rather an alarm is automatically set as soon as the message is received. That's definitely a complete automation.

Back in the good ‘ol days, Scribd and Slideshare allowed you to host your PowerPoint photo presentations. These sites were very popular at that time. The problem is, you can’t use these sites to create new slideshows from the beginning.

There is also Prezi, Zoho, Microsoft Office web apps, and even Google Docs that are advanced resources you can utilize to create online presentations. However, none of these allows you to create simple slideshows as quickly and easily.

Create Video Slideshows From Facebook, Instagram Photos With Slidely (link)

Now, meet Slide.ly, it's a new web app that makes it easy to create photo slideshows from Picassa web albums, Instagram photos, Google Images, Flickr photos, and Facebook albums. Slide.ly also allows you to upload pictures from your own desktop and puts them together into a musical slideshow of your own production and making. You can simply pull images and photos from shared multiple social sites you share with others and just pick out the specific photos you like to create your very own photo album or photo slideshow.

Slide.ly can even be used for office or class presentations so long as there’s an internet connection available.

Prezi: Create Visually Engaging, Rich Media Presentations, Slideshows Online FREE

Using Slide.ly is a snap. First you need login using your Slide.ly or Facebook account HERE. Once logged in, Slide.ly should bring you this:

Here you can select an album and individually select those photos you want to be added in your Slide.ly. You may also remove and re-arrange the selected photos, and instruct Slide.ly to randomly select the photos to be displayed by simply toggling the "Shuffle" button, as seen below:

Now, hit "Preview and Save Slidely" button, until Slide.ly bring you this:

From here you can select a track as music background for your Slide.ly. You can pick up from YouTube, SoundCloud, and you can even upload your own track. You can even choose from the thousands of free tracks from Slide.ly itself for your gallery, theme, or audio background.

Now it's time to add some effects. Just select any of the nine transition effects found in the upper right, as seen  here:

One unique feature of Slide.ly is that you can add pictures from any of your friend’s Facebook albums. Just make sure the privacy settings of the album or specific pictures are set to public or have been shared to you in the past.

Here's a Slide.ly presentation I created for the legendary Filipino rock band "Eraserheads":

Your PC, laptop and even PDAs can all be protected from illegal access with a password using dedicated file security programs. Users get prompted for a password every time they attempt to open the protected files. Yeah, this is cool! But, do you know that you too can protect your USB sticks from illegal access using password? Every time a user tries to open and format your USB stick, he will be asked for a correct password. And the coolest part about it is that you don’t need to install third party application just to encrypt and password protect your files and documents stored on your USB sticks.

If you rely on USB stick or portable hard disk as your main storage device, you should take the full advantage of BitLocker. BitLocker is a built-in program of Windows 7 designed to help you restrict access to your pen drives and external disks. Encrypting and protecting your USB sticks with a password using BitLocker is just a matter of minutes. Here’s the step by step guide on how you can secure your files/documents inside your thumb drive by encrypting and setting up a password.

Step 1 - Insert your portable hard disk (e.g. USB flash drive).

Step 2 - Using Windows Explorer, map and right click your USB stick and select "Turn on BitLocker".

Step 3 - A small window should now pop up prompting you for a password. Enter your desired password and hit “Next”. (Note: this password will be required by the time you open your USB stick later).

Step 4 – BitLocker will now create and save a recovery key on your computer just in case you forget your password. Just select the first option to save the recovery key in a text file in a secure place.

Step 5 – BitLocker should now start encrypting your portable disk. The process could take a few minutes depending on the data volume in your removable disk.

Step 6 – Now once done, remove your USB stick and try to insert it again and voila, you should be prompted for a password!

Just because BitLocker is a Windows 7 application doesn’t mean you can still break and open your BitLocker-protected USB stick on your XP and Vista computers. The nice thing about BitLocker is that it is machine independent and should be useful for locking your USB thumb drives!

With the internet so open to anyone, it is no surprise that copyright infringement and other content theft is rising fast. The best protection you can give to all your online images is to embed photo watermarks online to personalize and thereby, clearly identify all your image files.

Basically, according to the FreeDictionary.com and Dictionary.com, a watermark on any picture simply means:
"The faint design made on paper during manufacture, that is visible when held against the light and typically identifies the maker."
The best example for a watermark are those found on Australian dollar bills and South Korean Won bills.

You must have already aware of HTML5. It'a next-generation web technology that provides a standard for playing audio and video files. Advanced mobile browsers such as the built-in browser on your Android/iPhone and third-party apps like Opera Mobile and SkyFire support HTML5.

But here's the problem:

Not all websites are built with HTML5. Which means whenever you play any media files embedded on  non-HTML5 sites, they'll prompt you to download it.

Play, Stream All Music Files, MP3 Saved From Your DropBox

While you can always download the media file on your phone for later streaming (a podcast perhaps), why not play it right away? Doing the latter will not only save you time but also disk space.

Play Audio, Video Files On Non-HTML5 Websites Straight From Your iPhone/Android

You might want to enjoy a podcast before you finally drift off to bed, so here I'm going to share you a simple workaround on how to play MP3 and video files embedded on a website straight from your Android/iPhone browser -- no need to download.

Here's how:

Step 1 On your mobile browser, obtain the direct link of the file. In Opera Mobile we usually do it by opening the link in a new tab, until a download dialog pops up, as seen below (notice the download link):

With the above example, our direct link is: http://pbstatic.s3.amazonaws.com/introduction-to-monetizing-blogs.mp3. Copy it.

Step 2 Using your HTML5 browser (we recommend Opera Mobile), head to W3school Audio TryIt site. For video, point your browser here.

On your mobile browser, you should see something like this:

Step 3 In the <source> tag, replace the src attribute with the direct link of the file. Once you've done that, hit "Edit & Click Me" button.

And voila, you should be able to play the MP3 file directly on your mobile browser — no need to download boatloads of audio/video files!

You cannot quickly trash all SMS text messages saved on your phone. Chances are there might be some good old important information buried down on your inbox that you just missed to look up. While you can always do a quick scan to those SMS text messages stored on your phone, the process could be utterly tiresome especially if you're dealing with hundreds to thousands of messages.

If you're wondering about how to backup, export your good old SMS text messages before finally trashing them all, you might want to check out SMS Backup +.

Why type your SMS text message when you can just say it?

Let's face it: using our keypad to type SMS text messages, notes or email is not always practical. Mobile phones especially the touch screen ones have tiny keyboards, making it difficult to type. In addition, speaking without a doubt is always faster as compared to typing.

Welcome to the world of mobile voice recognition technology, a revolutionary way to input just about anything straight to your phone. With voice-to-text app installed on your smartphone, you don't have to fiddle through your keypad to input text. Now, you can just 'say out loud' your message with speech-to-text app for mobile! If you own a Symbian, iPhone, Android or Blackberry phone, this post is for you.

VoiceMode for Symbian - Translates Your Speech, Voice Into Text

Whether you text or tweet a lot on your smartphone, you will surely love VoiceMode, a revolutionary product of VoiceSignal that converts your voice into text. With VoiceMode, you just have to say what you want rather than having to use the keypad. With VoiceMode, you just press and hold a key and say what you want. When you release the key, you'll see your spoken words become text before your eyes!

Automatically turn off your phone at preset time

What seems to be interesting about this voice-to-text app for mobile is that voice recognition is NOT performed in the cloud. That means, VoiceMode doesn't have to constantly connect to a remote server to convert your speech into text. The typical voice-to-text mobile software collects your voice as input and digitally transfer it over the Internet to a remote server (where voice-recognition is performed), and then finally return the corresponding text in seconds. Thankfully, that is not the case of VoiceMode; this voice-to-text app for Symbian works out of the box -- just install, let your phone adapt your voice, and begin sending SMS text message, emails without having to type in your keyboard.

Avoid Overcharging: Play audio sound when phone's battery is full

You can use VoiceMode to add text to messages, notes, calendar entries, and even documents - almost anywhere that you can type. To download this voice recognition app for Symbian, just visit the official website or google it with search string "VoiceMode 2.0 for Symbian s60v3".

Dragon Dictation - Best Voice Recognition app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Dragon Dictation works almost the same as VoiceMode for Nokia Symbian. Dragon Dictation is an easy-to-use voice-to-text application for iPhone, iPad that lets you to quickly speak rather than typing in your text or email messages. So when you are on-the-go, turn talk into type with Dragon Dictation - from short text messages to longer email messages, and anything in between. Get it at iTune App Store.

If you have Android device, you might want to check out FlexT9, another smart speech-to-text app for Android. It works out of the box, amazingly accurate, and works well both rooted and unrooted Android device. Visit FlexT9 official website for details.

Here's another good reason why Gmail is still the best email service as yet:

You can now get a consolidated view of all email attachments sent to your Gmail account.

Being able to view and manage all email attachments in single manageable place basically means convenience. You don't want to waste your time searching through your inbox for email attachments, right?

Access, Manage All Files Stored Across Multiple Cloud Accounts All At Once

Well, the consolidation of email attachments is not at all a built-in feature of Gmail. Rather it is made possible by another web services called Attachments.me and DropBox. And Griffith, one of my readers here, shares you the gist on how get it up and running.

Very few simple steps and you should be able to see all Gmail attachments in one manageable place.

Access, Manage All Email Attachments In One Manageable Place (Gmail)

Note: Before you do the setup, make sure you're logged in to both DropBox and Gmail accounts. And to make the setup short, use Google Chrome browser.

Getting started with Attachments.me

Attachments.me is quite snap to use. First you need to download/install Attachments.me Chrome extensions from its website (link). Once installation is complete, you should be taken back to your Gmail's account. This time, you may need to authorize the app to connect to your Gmail account.

Cloud Save: The Quickest Way To Download, Backup Files Straight To The Cloud

Once Attachments.me and Gmail are connected, you'll now get introduced on how to make it work. An on-screen instruction should be displayed straight on your inbox, hinting you to do some basic actions such as connecting Attachments.me and DropBox (or Box) account, saving your first email attachment to your cloud storage account (in this case, DropBox), and specifying DropBox directory where email attachment gets saved.

The on-screen instruction will also introduce you to "filters", which allows you automatically send, save all email attachments to your DropBox/Box account when certain criterion meets. This is really handy when you want to put all work-related files sent as email attachments in one manageable size.

Automatically Backup WordPress Blog Database To DropBox

Now, as soon as DropBox authorization/setup is complete, you should  be able to view and manage all your email attachments from your DropBox account. Or you can access, manage all email attachments straight from your Attachments.me account (we recommend this).

Mobile Browsers were developed with specific goals; some were designed to be cost effective, while some are designed to handle multimedia tasks well.

In the bandwidth savings side, Opera Mini still leads the pack, allowing on-the-go users to save money on internet data. But here's the ugly side: it doesn't handle interactive and dynamic websites very well, not even the Opera Mobile.

Skyfire Browser, on the other hand, is a browser of choice for those who want to enjoy full web experience in their fingertips. Its unique network optimization technology gives you a richer, smarter and more fun mobile web experience. It can stream virtually all types of multimedia content such as audio mp3s and videos (e.g. YouTube) straight from your hand-held device. But here's the big turn-off: it's NOT free, and it's a resource hogger, so expect for lags and frequent crashes.

Why not enjoy the same multimedia content you used to enjoy on Skyfire and save big amount of data at the same time? Well, this is exactly what Maxthon Browser is all about. It's Opera Mini and Skyfire combined into one -- amazingly fast, secure, lightweight & FREE!

We rounded up this seven incredible goodness of Maxthon Browser which we think should put your iPhone and Android web experience to the next level. If you think we've missed to point out other notable features of Maxthon, just buzz off in the comments:

You can visit SpeedOf.me, an HTML5 Internet speed test website, and www.html5test.com to see for yourself that this browser really supports HTML5. While it’s true that Chrome scores higher on HTML5 tests, based on experience, Chrome feels heavy on mid range systems while Maxthon is smooth as butter.

3. Gestures

A touch screen device is not complete without gesture support, Maxthon browser offers you unique browsing experience by allowing you to use gestures to perform browser navigation like moving between tab, going backward, or forward.

7 Reasons Why You Need To Use Maxthon Browser -- For iPhone, iPad & Android

Have you ever been in a situation where you wished you could get a simplified list of Google Drive files and folders in a Google Sheet?

If you’re working as a graphic designer or web developer, chances are you’ve probably gone through that occasion where you needed to juggle through multiples files and folders just to get the file you want.

Google Drive’s built-in file explorer isn’t that intuitive enough. Rummaging through hundreds of files can be too overwhelming, to say the least. Well right now, not anymore!

How To List All Google Drive Files & Folders in Google Sheet

Meet Drive Explorer, it’s a tiny little add-on for Google Sheet that lets you export all (or selected) files and folders into a much readable spreadsheet format.

Drive Explorer (formerly Drive Direct Links) lets you pick folders/files from your Google Drive, Shared Drive or the files shared with you to export to the Google Sheet. Sheet columns contain metadata of the files like name of the file, containing folder, folder path on your Google drive, direct download link, etc.

How Drive Explorer works:

  1. You install the add-on and connect your Google account
  2. Once connected, go to your Driver folder and create a spreadsheet
  3. Inside your spreadsheet toolbar, click on Add-ons > Drive Explorer > Select files/folder.
  4. And finally, wait for a few seconds until your spreadsheet is automatically refreshed containing your files/folders’ meta info such as folder names, filenames, folder paths, links, etc.

When is it useful?

Being able to view your Google Drive files and folders in a list helps us save time and improve team collaboration. If you own an online store and works with VAs to manage inventories, this add-on definitely comes in handy.

In our day job, for instance, we constantly update images on our client’s websites. Let's face it: voice mail services are way too expensive and sure can hurt our pockets. Service providers today charge nearly almost half the cost of regular phone calls for just a simple replay/retrieval of voice messages left by your callers. But why you have to fork out another sum of money for voice mails when you can always turn your phone as a voice mail server and let your phone automatically answers all incoming calls?

Surprise your callers with custom greetings, ask them to just drop their voice messages should situations disallow you to take any phone calls. It is likely that a friend or a working colleague may call you during working hours, meeting or class, making it impossible for you to answer their calls.

Turn Your Phone Into Independent Answering Machine - Let Callers Drop Voice Messages Directly On Your Phone

Voice Inbox is the good old piece of app that turns your s60 Symbian phone into on-device answering machine. With this app you can let callers leave voice messages whenever you're in a meeting, class, or you're out driving.

Avoid Overcharging - Play Loud Alarm When Phone's Battery Is Fully Charged

The best thing about Voice Inbox is that voice messages are stored directly on phone's local storage, instead at operator's voice mailbox. When you receive a call, the application answers with your pre-recorded greeting and saves the voice message straight onto your phone.

Voice Inbox enables you to:
  • Replay received voice messages whenever you need
  • Easily delete voice messages
  • See important message details: who called (name, not just a number) and when
  • Call back in one click, as soon as you hear the message
  • Know when you have a new voice message through the app's display indicator
The neat interface of Voice Inbox allows you to create or change custom voice greeting, set caller waiting time before Voice Inbox takes the call, choose whether to play your messages/greetings on the loudspeaker or the earpiece.

Important note for Symbian^3 devices (Nokia N8, E7, C7, etc):

When VI plays your voice greeting to callers, your phone's microphone will be on, due to the technical restrictions of the Symbian^3 platform. This means that for the duration of your voice greeting, the caller will also be able to hear the sounds surrounding your phone.

How To: Automatically Answer Phone Calls/Let Callers Leave Voice Messages And Save It Directly On Your Phone

Auto-forwarding of mail to another email account is cool. But what must be cooler is to know that we can automatically forward all inbound mails straight to our phone.

This FREE of charge auto-forwarding of mail to SMS procedure that I'm about to share works well with Globe, TM, and Sun Cellular subscribers. This trick should also work with mail providers that support forwarding just like Gmail (I don't know with Yahoo if they have this feature for free).

Ok, let me explain this: Auto-forwarding of incoming mails to our phone is made possible by 'exploiting' the FastMail service of Globe. FastMail is a whole new facility of Globe that allows you to send and receive emails using your mobile phone. Simply put, you can send SMS via email using FastMail with this format <639xxxxxxxxx>@fast.ph. With that said, I came up with a conclusion that I could actually receive my emails straight to my mobile phone for FREE.

Here's the procedure:

All we need to do is to perform a little configuration in our Gmail account:

1. Click "Settings" at the top of any Gmail page, and open the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.

2. From the first drop-down menu in the
Forwarding section, select "Add new email address".

3. Enter [email protected] (Exapmle: [email protected])

4. For security reasons, Google will send a verification code to your number shortly.

5. Open your forwarding email account, and find the confirmation message from the Gmail team.

6. Click the verification link in that email.

7. Back in your Gmail account, select the "Forward a copy of incoming mail to..." option and select your forwarding
address you've created from the drop-down menu.

8. Select the action you'd like your messages to take from the drop-down menu. You can choose to keep Gmail's copy of the message in your inbox, or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash.

9. Click Save Changes.

You also can set up filters to forward messages that meet specific criteria. You can create 20 filters that forward to other addresses. You can maximize your filtered forwarding by combining filters that send to the same address

Now, let's do some test by sending an email to your Gmail using other email account like Yahoo, Hotmail...etc.

FastMail should be able to deliver your email straight to your phone! That's it!

(Note: You can only view the first 55 characters of each email received. But at least, you get informed about inbound mails from time to time be it a about Facebook notifications or any.)

At last, the file management tool we've been waiting for has finally arrived!

Everybody can now access all backup files stored across multiple cloud storage providers all at the same time. If you love how TweetDeck or HootSuite works for your social media accounts, you'll also love this new file management tool designed for the cloud!

Access, Manage Backup Files Stored In The Cloud All At Once With Otixo

Meet Otixo, a new breed of file management web service that offers a whole new level of convenience. Otixo gives you a consolidated view of all files stored in the cloud by allowing you to connect all your favorite cloud storage services such as DropBox, Google Docs, Box, MobileMe, among others. Otixo works by fetching all your files stored in the cloud, populate and list them altogether in a single interface. Otixo exactly does what TweetDeck or HootSuite does for social media accounts, but for files stored in the cloud!

With Otixo you can:

1. Search and find your files across many cloud-based services in one simple step.

Admit it: it's a pain to look for a particular file especially when all you can remember is that it was saved somewhere in the cloud and you can't seem to remember which cloud services it was saved. Finding a particular file is even awful lot harder especially if you're to deal with a large collection of files. Thankfully Otixo comes with a smart search function enabling you to search for a particular file, regardless of its virtual file location. Think of Otixo like Apple's Finder or Window's File Explorer, but for the cloud.

2. Move files from one service to another without downloading them first to your computer.

There are several occassions when I need to transfer files from my Google Docs to DropBox account. For example, I want to generate a direct HTTP link for my PSD file stored in Google Docs so I can edit it using PSD editor online. Google Docs unfortunately cannot provide me a public HTTP link (required by most online PSD editor) so I need to move the file to DropBox first and let DropBox generates a public HTTP link for me. Also, Google Docs can't seem to render images embedded in a document or spreadsheet so all I need to do is to generate a public link so I can fully open the file using free document and excel viewing tool online.

3. Access your many online services with a single username and password.

The real beauty of Otixo is that you get access to all your files saved across multiple cloud storage accounts. Google Drive is our easy option when it comes to sharing files — be it for personal or work team collaboration. And it’s easy to see why. Aside from the fact that it’s free, it got a plethora of apps you can use to even supercharge your workflow and save your time in the process.

One of those Google Drive apps that I stumbled upon is BeFunky Photo Editor. If you live in a country where internet is an issue (read: slow, expensive, and often capped internet), BeFunky Photo Editor will do you a favor.

Few days ago while finishing a customer’s website, a client shared a Google Driver folder containing a bunch of images to load up into his landing pages. The problem: the images came straight from a DSLR camera and were almost 30mb each. And we’re talking about 70-100 images.

Imagine the frustration I felt realising I had to download them all using my capped internet data so I can crop, resize them offline. I only needed at least 1200px wide versions of those images.

5 Handy Google Sheet Tricks To Help You Work Fast & Save Time

Just as you can unzip files on Google Drive without downloading them, there has to have a way to also crop, resize images straight from Google Drive without downloading them for offline editing. So I ended up rummaging through Google Drive apps directory and discovered BeFunky Photo Editor.

Easily Crop, Resize Images on Google Drive without Downloading them

Thanks to BeFunky, there’s no need to choose between a powerful, do-it-all tool and an easy, user-friendly interface. We’ve got it all!
